Good morning, To clarify, Virtualbox doesn't really care what the audio device in your system is. It uses whatever audio is available on the host OS and emulates an audio device to the guest OS, the device that is emulated has nothing to do with your actual audio device. Using Virtualbox on a Windows XP host, to get audio in Ubuntu: 1. audio must be set to dsound 2. audiocontroller (may be audiodevice) should be set to ac97. As for OpenSolaris, you will need to do as above, but also you will need to install the Open Sound System package for OpenSolaris. You can find out more about that at the following URL.
