Re: [orca-list] GNU Cash, Anyone?

I have looked at it in the past -- about a year ago or so -- and found it pretty much unusable.

Anyone else try this program in the past or present? I wonder if it would be worth my while to persue the developers on this? I can hook up some debugging but probably won't be sure what exactly to look for.

I thought I'd give a look to GNU Cash which according to the
documentation is one powerful accounting package. But I can't seem to
navigate anywhere inside any of the accounts. I was able to do the
initial setup but I can't seem to view any sub acounts or
transactions. I even imported a .QIF file for kicks but again, the
transactions were invisible to Orca. Whenever I got into any of the
panels where I had the trouble, pressing the numpad-Enter key would
only say "Panel." I think there was supposed to be a list of items
there but Orca doesn't think so.

Has anyone out there had any experiences, good or bad with GNU Cash?
I'm doing this on a Debian Lenny system with all current updates.
Plus Orca and friends from SVN of 01/30/2009.
