Hi all,
Just after installing orca on my fedora 9 PC, I could configure it
successfully with braille and espeak synth.
It worked like a charm until the day I started my PC while the braille
display was not plugged to it. The work I needed to do at this time was
quite simple and therefore, the synth was sufficient to me.
Now, even when my display is plugged before starting the PC, orca does
not want to braille although brltty is working correctly. I can read the
startup messages in braille and then, "creeen not in text mode", even
when orca starts.
I activated the debugging mode of orca and here is the error it reported
to me in the "debug.out" file:
------------------------
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/orca/braille.py", line 1334, in
init
brlAPI = brlapi.Connection()
File "brlapi.pyx", line 232, in brlapi.Connection.__init__
ConnectionError: couldn't connect to :0 with key /etc/brlapi.key:
connect: Connection refused
-------------------------
I first thought about the /etc/brlapi.key file but it definitely exists
and is accessible in "rw" mode for all users.
What else should I check please?
Many thanks in advance. Have a nice day. Chris
