[orca-list] having problems with speech-dispatcher

                Hello there,

I am getting the following message when I run speech-dispatcher:

Failed client speech-dispatcher failed to open: connection refused

Also how do I shut down pulseaudio so that I can see if it comes up in
Alsa?  I am running all my sound it looks like in the Preferences/Sounds
through Alsa but maybe pulseaudio may be stopping it some how.  Any help
is always appreciated.
