[orca-list] getting to a text console in opensolaris

Hi all,
How do I get a text console in opensolaris without disabling the gdm 
service?  I have tried using ctrl alt f1, f2, etc from gnome and am not 
brought to a console.  I am trying to see how well orca and yasr will play 
together in opensolaris, so that if I ever have to go into single-user 
mode I will have speech.
