Good morning,
2008/4/30 <
keithint38 commspeed net>:
Orca and Tilda terminal-- how well does Orca work with that?
Also,
i read a blog entry where Darragh (can't type that irish last name)
explained how to make it work by editing a few lines in
orca-customizations.py.
Where is this orca-customizations.py file?
In my blog post, the orca customizations.py file is found in /home/$username/.orca/
How well does Orca interface to Tilda terminal?
Because with the alteration of your orca customizations file Orca will lode the script for gnome-terminal, you'll get more or less the same functionality out of Tilda as you do with Gnome-terminal.
I would like to interface to the Irssi client if that's possible, such as
using text-tools in Tilda terminal.
Also, does Orca announce the characters you backspace/
I cannot use Gnome-terminal too well with Orca, because it cannot read the
character that is being backspaced, many times I'm backspacing multiple
characters and stuff. So thanks.
Tilda is not going to work any differently for you than Gnome terminal. Mainly because your using the same scripts and the VTE is the same.
I thought Orca spoke the back spaced character on my machine. I've settled on a very stable combination of Orca, Ubuntu, Firefox and Tilda though and I'm really happy with it so I'm not using many of the new versions until I'm sure their as functional and reliable so maybe somethings broken in a new build.
Regards, --Keith.
