This sounds very odd. First of to check that jconsole really is
accessible I have tried loading it on my system, and it is accessible.
Let's ensure that even the very basic things are done, it might seem a
bit much and unnecessary but it is surprising how easy it is to forget
something and then wonder why it doesn't work (I have done that when
upgrading JDKs on my system). Make sure that you are really using the
JDK you think you are, and that the java environment variables are set
correct. Also are you sure that the .orbitrc file is correct, this is
very important for making things accessible, including java. Also if you
are using the java application as a different user (eg. when running
something using sudo to perform tasks requiring root access) you will
need to ensure the options needed for that are also set in the
appropriate .orbitrc files. Also I am not sure how to do this, but if it
is possible to confirm whether the access bridge is loading may help
track down your problem.
