Hello,
I wonder if anyone can suggest some IDEs which work well with orca. From
what I have found out from my own experience eclipse seems to be the
best (in providing features and being supported by orca), but I have a
few problems with it (since my distro updated eclipse to 3.4 some
plugins aren't available yet for eclipse 3.4, and I don't want to
downgrade as I have had enough problems with eclipse when changing
versions or configurations). One of the main plugins which I am missing
is the pydev one for intergrating python development into eclipse, and
am struggling to find any decent alternative for python development. I
also do java development and the alternatives I looked at there, while
possibly being suitable for use with orca (may be with the aid of
scripts and/or some work on the IDE), orca was performing so slow it
would be impossible to use them for anything practical (I tried netbeans
and jdeveloper).
On the topic of orca working slowly in netbeans and jdeveloper, I mean
this is general, even the menus have times where orca responds slowly. I
think both netbeans and jdeveloper are written in java, and that java
with orca was something which was going to get some attention, is this
problem known about (from other places possibly)?
Any suggestions on suitable IDEs, or does anyone know of a way to get
pydev working in eclipse 3.4 (in which case I would cross my fingers
that eclipse will keep working correctly).
