Hello,
Ahh ok, I understand. It's because I'm still looking for a text to speech
engine other then Espeak. I've heard no word from Capital Accessibility
regarding my purchase. So I believe that's probably done with. So if anyone
has the file for ttsynth, please send it over. I'm not sure if it will work
on my systme, but it's worth a try.

Hi Alonzo:
My understanding is that the Ubuntu folks have modified the Bonobo
activation files for gnome-speech to wrap the drivers to use the audio
system preferred by the OS. I *think* you can verify this by looking
for the line containing 'type="exe"' in the
/usr/lib/bonobo/servers/GNOME_Speech_SynthesisDriver_*.server files.
Actually, the bonobo activation files were not changed in any way. Instead,
the driver binaries were renamed, and wrapper scripts were put in their
place. These scripts check to see if pulseaudio is running, and if so, use
pulseaudio for output, oterwise, run the driver as normal.
