Hi Michael:

The error message seems to be this:

 * Starting Speech Dispatcher speech-dispatcher
invoke-rc.d: initscript speech-dispatcher, action "start" failed.

I don't have an Ubuntu box handy to test on right now, so I'm at a loss 
for debugging this one.  :-(  Maybe Tomas Cerha can help?
