Re: [orca-list] TTSynth voice question

Hi Willie,
I reinstalled the ttsynth package and followed the build commands to install
the gnome speech driver. Orca talked for about five minutes about all of
the files that were copied from the Ubunto 7.10 live cd. But after all of
that, no change and ttsynth, which is via voice, still does not show up
under orca nor does it show up as an installed application.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi Bob:

I think you may also need to build/install the gnome-speech driver for
TTSynth. If I remember correctly, TTSynth is the same thing as
ViaVoice, and the build of gnome-speech should hopefully just find it.
You can find more about gnome-speech here:

Hope this helps,

Will

Hi,
I've installed the deb package of TTSynth on my Ubuntu 7.10 system. I
do not see this speech engine listed on the speech page of the orca
preferences. What do I need to do?
