Hi. I just subscribed to this list hoping for some pointers. I have just
downloaded Dropline Gnome 2.20 for Slackware 12.0. It comes with Orca
2.20.2. It does not start. I have Festival installed, and it works with
test-speech. When I try to start Orca, even with the "--version" option,
it fails to start. Here is what I get from trying to run Orca regardless
of what options I give it.
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py:72: GtkWarning: could not open display
warnings.warn(str(e), _gtk.Warning)

details.
I checked the file out, but see no problems. I also checked the web page
mentioned, and it indicated that a comment should be in the file
indicating what encoding to use. Is this a known bug? If not, is it a
problem with Python, Orca, or something else that Dropline may have done?
I'd appreciate any advice as to where to start troubleshooting this
problem. Thanks.
