If you just want a player than can be transferred to while using
Orca, just get one that can be seen as a USB Mass Storage device.
Then you can copy the files with gnome-terminal with the cp command or
use the nautilus file browser. What I do now days is use the Victor
Reader Stream from Humanware and transfer the files I want onto a SD
card and put the card in the Stream and I have one of the most
accessible portable players out there. You can do similarly with the
Book Port also, if I'm not mistaken.

i told dad yesterday that i had copied some of my cds and he said
i could do with something like an ipod.
i have read they work in ubuntu but is there one that is
accessible as regards the controls? i saw one my sister has but
it had this plastic ovlay or some kind of oubber oerlay over the
controls which was no good because you had to navigate it by
moving your finger across the overlay somehow.
also if there is one that is more navigable by someone without
sight can orca be used to navigate when transfering files or
whatever?
