Hello Guenni  and list,

The package 

poppler-utils 

contains the utilities pdftohtml and pdftotext, which can be used from
the gnome terminal.  I find pdftohtml often works best.  So from the
command line,

pdftohtml <file-name>

converts the pdf file to an html one.
