Hey All:
I recently updated my machine to Intrepid and came across what appears
to be a missing file for gnome-speech. The result is a nasty message
you get from orca:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/var/lib/python-support/python2.5/orca/speech.py", line 103, in
init
[''])
File "/var/lib/python-support/python2.5/orca/gnomespeechfactory.py",
line 52, in <module>
ORBit.load_typelib('GNOME_Speech')
RuntimeError: could not load typelib
I logged the bug here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-speech/+bug/259471
To work around this, I just build, but don't install, gnome-speech by
hand and then copy the *.so file:
sudo cp gnome-speech/.libs/GNOME_Speech_module.so /usr/lib/orbit-2.0/
Will
