Hi,
Progress bar announcement is one of the first things I turn on when
setting up Orca. It would be great to have it on by default.
Before switching to Ubuntu, I used to use a screen reader in XP called
NVDA. They have a feature where progress bars were shown with rising
beeps.
Unfortunately thiw will likely not be as easy to do in orca, due to Orca's cross-platform nature, and the
many different audio subsystems that would have to be supported to do it, as not all speech
synthesizers/backends support this either.
