[orca-list] trouble in file browsing frames?

Hi folks, I'm not even sure if that's what they're called.
I'm in the music player in ubuntu 7.10. I've tried to import a folder
from which to play music. I'd like to play music off the network, my
windows machine. I know it is accessible. I've found it through the
"connect to server" dialog.
So, in the import folder there are several controls. There are buttons
"enter file name" "smb:///" also a drop down box which says "places"
I've gotten here, and can't seem to have the places box find my
network place.
Any suggestions? I've pressed the "enter filename" button and typed in
the network directory and nothing.
This is unfamiliar to me.
