Lorenzo Taylor writes ("[orca-list] eSpeak, Speech-dispatcher, Orca and voice variations in Gutsy"):
I decided to try running speech-dispatcher in Orca. I am running the
speech-dispatcher that ships with Ubuntu Gutsy. I have tried changing
the default voice type in speechd.conf to FEMALE1, but both Orca and
spd-say still speak with the male voice. Is this a problem with the
eSpeak module or have I missed something somewhere else?
It is a problem with the espeak module. I thought I had implemented
this feature correctly, but it apparently no longer works. I will try
to track down the problme when I have time, but I guess it will not
happen too soon.
Best regards, Lukas
