[orca-list] Orca and some control types

Hello,
I have just been looking at if there is any way for reading a Mathml
document under linux (that is a separate thing to what I want to discuss
here, but that was what lead to me noticing what I do want to discuss)
and I noticed something unusual when trying amaya. First of all I found
it didn't seem good for accessibility, so I went to preferences in the
hope of finding some options to make it better, and that was when I
found something interesting. In the preferences dialog box for amaya,
tabbing around lead to me finding the "apply" button, "defaults" button,
"cancel" button and an unknown control (panel, assumably where the
settings options can be set). When I tried exploring the dialog with
flat review, I found a list of the settings options (and orca seemed to
be reading this OK, even whether it was checked or not).

My question is, what are the differences in how orca gets the
information for the two modes, and is it possible that orca could be
improved to make applications which are less accessible more accessible?
I guess this is due to me getting so used to most GTK apps being fairly
good and so not needing flat review. I also know that this example of
amaya may not be good, as even if this problem was sorted, then the rest
of amaya still could pose accessibility problems.
