Hi Will,
I could reduce the stuttering by switching to Python2.4 instead of -2.5. 
But it has not gone totally.
It does not ocur with Speech-dispatcher, but this solution produces more 
problems than it solves:
Instability of the connection to SD, pronunciation problems of Espeak and 
the known problems with the SayAll function.
The issue seems to be linked with my swap partitin problem, because the 
stuttering rises after a few hours of use when the swap partition becomes 
larger. SD doesn't produce that much swap overflow. So one swapper seems to 
be Gnome-speech, a second one is Evolution, but that's a different topic.
