That new/different password dialog box -- the one that claims that your
password is wrong when you know good and well that it isn't -- has gone
to wherever it is such things go off to. <smile> This morning's updates
put things back to normal.

I just tried installing updates from the update manager icon and got the
same thing. It's a different dialog; Caps Lock is not on. Seems you
can still sudo from a terminal window to launch things:
sudo update-manager
sudo users-admin
etc.
This is undoubtedly just another one of those "bleeding edge" things
that will get resolved shortly....
