[orca-list] slugish all around

Hi list,

  I hope this is just my system, but orca is very very slugish speech
cutting in and out periodically. For example if I am in gaim, it takes a
second before I hear my own message. Especially in gaim if I IM a friend
on the AIM network it takes a good 5 minutes before I hear my own
message, however I can hear any keys I press at the time, I don't hear
any incoming messages right away. Then after that, the whole experience
just slows down, but my system seems to run fine. I'm on Feisty Fawn
with all latest updates to my system. Mind you I did grab the latest
version from subversion 2.19.5pre, however that did not solve my issue.

Here are my system specs
2.8 GHZ celeron, 768 memory
64 MB video card

that should be enough anyway, in fact more than enough. I just don't
understand why speech is so slow. If I let my system sit over night or a
day I get nothing out of orca and need to restart it.

Does anyone know why this is. I have a server that is a p3 and has been
on for weeks and it acts like it was just turned on.
