Orca crashing in a terminal window

Hi,

When I go into a terminal window using Fedora core 6, after a period of time
working in the window Orca "latest version" stops speaking. I come out of
the terminal window and go to shutdown, just when the system is getting
ready to shut down does Orca come back on speaking once more. I can then
cancel the shutdown and return to normal work. What might be causing this
can anyone say?.
