AFAIK, Speech-Dispatcher currently gets a wave file from the espeak
command line and plays it using aplay. So the solution of the sound
mixing issue is hopefully in the aplay sources. I can't say much more at
the moment :-) .
I am confident that in the future Speech-Dispatcher and eSpeak will be
more responsive.
