Yup. I just chatted with Will. Speech Dispatcher unfortunately
doesn't currently have proper callbacks so this will indeed be a
problem.

PS: Halim, I saw your followup message. If you can show me a way to
   reproduce this with a gnome-speech driver, I'll investigate further.
