hi herman,
a quick question, is there something like a file browser in the gui portion
of linux? is it accessible, and if so, how do I get to it? can I right click
a file in it and say "extract" or something like it?
thank you.
Mohammed.

Hello Mohammed,
please check out my yesterday's mail to Krishnakant. I pointed out all
steps you've to perform.
To download packages you can use the text browser w3m, that comes with
Ubuntu; start it from the Gnome terminal.
Hermann
