Re: [orca-list] I've got ubuntu feisty re-installed, now how to update it?

Mike:

If you'd like to experiment with the latest sources, you don't necessarily have to install them into /usr. You could instead trying using a different --prefix switch when running autogen. For example, you might choose something such as:

./autogen.sh --prefix=$HOME/myorca
make
make install

You can then run the resulting orca using:

$HOME/myorca/bin/orca

Note also that you need not do any of the commands as root if you are building/installing into a directory owned by you (e.g., $HOME).

Ok,
Now that I have ubuntu feisty back on, what is the best way to keep it up-to-date so I can get the latest release of orca? When I run the update manager it stops speaking. Will the latest stable version of orca support firefox? I'm a little weary of getting the source of orca due to what happened last time smiles. Thanks, Mike
