Feisty is the latest Ubuntu, but still under development. It is
announced for the end of April.
Do you have a braille display, and if so, is it connected via USB? If
this is the case, you can download an alternate install CD. It is no
live CD, so it boots imediately into the installation starting braille,
but no speech.
I think you chose to repartition your whole hard drive, which of course
distroys Windows.
You can prepare partitions for installation under Windows, provided you
have tools like Partition Magic; however it is not free.
If you have a braille display and you are experienced in using DOS, you
can set up partitions by using fdisk. You must therefore create a boot
disk under Windows.
Note: In order to set up Linux well, you should create a additional swap
partition, in order to speed up the OS. The size should be twice as your
RAM.
However: If non of my conditions made here is true, you should rely on
sighted assistance.
The problem during the install procedure is that normally you act as
simple user under Linux, not as administrator. Some operations have to
be done as administrator, and Orca is set up to work for the user.
