Orca accessible sound recorders

Hey all,

  I wanted to know, aside from the litle sound recorder in gnome, what
can I use to record and mix in linux? I tried using audacity but it was
inaccessible. I am tring to record a tutorial for orca for beginners,
but don't know the best way to do it.
