Hi Cody,
After you make your selections in orca-setup,
you should actually be ready to go.
orca-setup does its thing and then exits, so at that point, you won't get
any further speech until you actually run the orca command.
When you're at
the gnome desktop, press alt+f2 to bring up the run dialog, type orca and
press enter.
At that point, you should start getting speech. If this is not the
case, Please let us know.
Good luck and best regards,
--Al

Subject: tarting orca
hi
I have opened a terminal and
typed
orca-setup
I get a prompt asking me which voice I want. I
can't quite understand the 2 options, so I select one, then i am asked for
speak echo charactors, I say Y for yes, after this I get no speech, what is
going wrong? I have managed to get this far. I still can't get out of a
terminal window, is there another type of setup I need to do?
thanx a lot
cody
