Frozen, means frozen that we don't go changing the code without a good
reason, like fixing a critical bug. Particularly anything that might
change the ABI / API and/or add instability is not going to happen in
there.
What should really happen is that the threading support changes should
be merged into the ORBit2 core for the gnome-2.2 development branch (
now HEAD ).
