orbit-idl-2 woes

Funny stuff...

 I can't seem to compile ORBit2 using either vicious-build-scripts
(head), or garnome.  I tried using strace to see what tools/libs/files
are used during the build, but nothing in particular strikes my eye. Any
ideas?
