Orbit development state and Win32 porting

We are evaluating several technologies for a new application we are
developing. The base requirements are about a multiplatform object
technology optimized for a single workstation.
Orbit seems perfect for our needs, thus I would like to know which is the
development state (planned release) and the state and maintance of the Win32
porting.
