I can recommend this book, even if it is geared towards C++.

I don't know offhand of any good books that deal with the C mapping. You
will need to read the OMG spec for that one.

There are plenty of bad ones. I bought "CORBA for Dummies" as a joke, and
then wished I hadn't: not only is it a vast oversimplification, it's also
outright wrong in several places.
