The file ORBit/src/orb.c has the following options listed. I guess all of them can either be passed by command line, put in /etc/orbitrc for system wide settings, or put into ~/.orbitrc for user-settings ( Correct ? )

CORBA parameters ( defined by the INS/Core spec )
- ORBid
- ORBInitRef
- ORBDefaultInitRef

ORBit specific settings 
- ORBImplRepoIOR   ( deprecated by standardized parameters above )
- ORBIfaceRepoIOR  ( deprecated by standardized parameters above )
- ORBNamingIOR     ( deprecated by standardized parameters above )
- ORBDebugLevel
- ORBDebugModules
- ORBIIOPUSock
- ORBIIOPIPv4
- ORBIPv4Port
- ORBIIOPIPv6

I will put this into the FAQ if someone could explain the implications of the last 6 parameters.
