The bug is now fixed also in the branch so we can just stay there.

Removed the cut-and-paste and added empathy.

I just tracked down the last regression I'm aware of (vs pidgin) and
sent a possible fix:

A soon as that's solved, are you OK with turning on empathy by
default? So that we get some more testing and fix the remaining rough
edges...
