My openVPN config file is: client dev tap0 proto udp remote <IP-address> <port> resolv-retry infinite nobind persist-key persist-tun ca ca.crt cert name.crt key name.key ns-cert-type server verb 3 keepalive 1 20 sndbuf size 20000000 rcvbuf size 20000000 Especially the keepalive line is important as well as the sndbuf and rcvbuf line.
