So this is just the same implementation as in the Sierra plugin, right?
In the best case, we can re-use the same code, by adding the logic to
some common helper, instead of copying everything from one plugin to the
other. Actually, if these really are generic enough, we could add them
to MMBroadbandModem... I'll let Dan comment about this.
