The attached patch allows ModemManager to detect the Huawei E3276.
It also defaults to IPv4 if the bearer ip_type is not specified, does not send encoded_auth if it is
zero, and sends the short form AT^NDISDUP=1,1 if the username and password are both blank.
Can you split the patch into several ones, one for each changed
functionality? That would be better for reviewing.
This was on my list to reply to; I'd filed that bug about 3276
functionality a few weeks ago, but we'd sort-of tabled it until we got a
reply back from Huawei about why this device supported NDISDUP, but
didn't have the same USB descriptor layout as the devices they said
supported it. But the 3276 obviously does support NDISDUP and we know
some other devices theoretically do (UMG1831).
As you noted, some devices do tie the NDISDUP to the PDP context, others
don't. My UMG1831 does not.
Graham, can you do some other tests for us? Can you try other CIDs?
AT^NDISDUP=<cid>,1,"<apn>"
You noted the response for AT^NDISDUP=? included (1-20); what's the
result of:
AT+CGDCONT=?
Thanks!
Dan
