Re: NetworkManager vpnc fails on Fedora 18/19

Have a look at:
https://wiki.gnome.org/NetworkManager/Debugging

You basically want to run (as root):
/usr/libexec/nm-vpnc-service --debug

And then start the VPN. You should get enough verbosity to understand what is going on.

Hello!

I didn't get any response on the Fedora list and hence posting here.

I was using Fedora 17 x86_64 with NetworkManager vpnc which was working well. I installed Fedora 19 and NM + vpnc does not seem to work anymore and here are the logs from syslog

"Jul  3 21:11:44 localhost NetworkManager[423]: <info> Starting VPN service 'vpnc'...
Jul  3 21:11:44 localhost NetworkManager[423]: <info> VPN service 'vpnc' started (org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.vpnc), PID 2643
Jul  3 21:11:44 localhost NetworkManager[423]: <info> VPN service 'vpnc' appeared; activating connections
Jul  3 21:11:51 localhost NetworkManager[423]: <info> VPN plugin state changed: starting (3)
Jul  3 21:11:51 localhost NetworkManager[423]: <info> VPN connection 'InMobi' (Connect) reply received.
Jul  3 21:11:51 localhost NetworkManager[423]: <warn> /sys/devices/virtual/net/tun0: couldn't determine device driver; ignoring...
Jul  3 21:11:51 localhost avahi-daemon[375]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun0"

I don't see tun0 interface created when i run ifcfg even though the module is loaded.  I see the same behavior with F18 as well.  I could share the vpnc debug report if it helps diagnose and also open a bug as needed.

Is there anything else I'm missing?

Thanks in advance,
Steve
