Good day folks,
By the virtue of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/+bug/459052
I've ended up running modem-manager from git (today's master).
And yet, not all is well (there's no connection). Here's the syslog
bits that looked interesting to me:
modem-manager[6071]: <info> Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed (disabled -> enabling)
modem-manager[6071]: (mm-modem-sierra-gsm.c:391):real_do_enable_power_up_done: runtime check failed: (priv->enable_wait_id == 0)
modem-manager[6071]: <info> (ttyUSB0) opening serial port...
modem-manager[6071]: <warn> (ttyUSB0): port attributes not fully set
modem-manager[6071]: Invalid error code: 303
modem-manager[6071]: <info> Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed (enabling -> enabled)
modem-manager[6071]: <info> Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed (enabled -> registered)
modem-manager[6071]: <info> Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed (registered -> connecting)
modem-manager[6071]: <info> Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed (connecting -> connected)
modem-manager[6071]: <warn> (ttyUSB2): failed to enable USSD notifications.
modem-manager[6071]: <info> Modem /org/freedesktop/ModemManager/Modems/0: state changed (connected -> disabled)
Feel free to ask me any questions.
The kernel is:
deepfire@dubhe:~$ uname -a
Linux dubhe 2.6.38-10-generic #46-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 28 15:05:41 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
If it helps, here's the modem identification:
