      I had to run.
1. dbus-send --system --print-reply --type=method_call --dest=fi.epitest.hostap.WPASupplicant /fi/epitest/hostap/WPASupplicant/Interfaces/0 fi.epitest.hostap.WPASupplicant.Interface.scanResults
    ( NULL )
2.iwlist wlan0 scanning
    ( NULL No scanning result )
3.wpa_supplicant -> wpa_cli scan
    ( NULL )

Can you run a scan manually from a shell with 'iwlist <device> scan' ?
