It's not so uncommon to have several reachable networks with different
security levels. I have actually seen that in some workplaces.
FYI, the hybrid private + hotspot thing Sébastien mentioned has
recently been implemented in France by almost every ISP. This great
feature allows you to roam your DSL subscription anywhere your ISP has
other subscribers (and it is implemented with some Weblogin page :-)
In other words, every French ISP has "implemented" FON
<http://www.fon.com/>, making FON redundant.
