So we ran into this with ModemManager recently, and while we sort of
know what the cause is, we haven't fixed in NM 0.7.x yet.  Not entirely
sure how it could happen in 0.7.x though, but there are a few reasons.

I knew I shouldn't have gotten rid of my N80 :)  In any case, did you
recently update your kernel version or something?  What kernel are you
running now?  This only recently started popping up, which leads me to
suspect kernel serial changes more than anything in NM that started to
trigger it (though there's still an NM bug anyway).
