Kill network manager and then run it as:
sudo NetworkManager --no-daemon
This will show all log output. Also enable debug logging. Look for a
message like:
Dec 30 11:42:39 quintin-VAIO NetworkManager: <WARN> device_creator():
/sys/devices/virtual/net/ib0: couldn't determine device driver;
ignoring...
