WPA2 login fails after first successful connection

Hello,
here's a weird WPA2 problem:
After having sucessfully connected to a (formerly unkown) WPA/WPA2
secured WIFI network, any consecutive login fails. Deleting the
according entry in the Wireless networks configartion menu does not
alter the situation.

The Network is recognised properly, but the secrets are not accepted.
The secrets input dialog is iteratively prompted after input.

Similar problems occur with other WPA/WPA2 secured WIFI networks.

Unsecured networks are connected properly.

Thinkpad,  Linux Kernel 2.6.27.37-0.1-default Open Suse 11.1, Network
controller: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
driven by module iwl3945.
NM is V 0.7, the applet is controlled via Gnome 2.24.1

Is this a NM or diver problem? How to fix it?
