Where we have identical USB cables (and hence vendor/product IDs) that 
can be plugged into different phones, that's not going to work. We need 
to be able to launch a probe. I'm unworried about whether that's done by 
hal on connection, or whether it's left up to the client application to 
trigger the probing.
