Dan et all -
I use a Novatel U727 modem on Sprint, it is working well with .7.
The U727 is weird in that when it is first plugged into a USB port it is
mounted as a CD-ROM drive - (messages on a Ubuntu 8.10 desktop) -

The GSM modem is "hidden". Only after umount'ing the CD-ROM drive
does the modem show up -

To make my life easier I have a small process that uses Net::Dbus to
attach to the system bus and watches for that Novatel SCSI device to
attach, then it immediately umount's it.
My question is this - Should it be NetworkManager's responsibility
to watch for the U727 and make it available as a GSM modem, or should
that umount code remain outside of NetworkManager?
Thanks,
Craig
