Did you use the same SSID at home as you use at work?  I believe that if
you've configured a particular SSID (or in 0.7 it will be a
"connection") before, and you switch out that config underneath NM, you
will always need to clear that connection data out before you will be
able to automatically connect again.  If you weren't able to use the
"Connect to other wireless network" with the work AP and different
settings, that's a bug though.
