I am using ubuntu feisty fawn 7.04 with the NetworkManager to login into my wireless-lan. After I have input all necessary information (WPA Personal Key, Gateway-IP, DNS, ...) all seems to be fine. But a connection to the wireless-router cannot be established.
In the error-log /var/log/debug I have found the following error message from the NetworkManager:
Apr 22 10:41:49 tommy-laptop NetworkManager: <debug info>^I[1177231309.606616] real_act_stage4_ip_config_timeout (): Activation (eth1/wireless): could not get IP configuration info for 'wirelesshome', asking for new key.
What is the problem? Why the NetworkManager is seeking a new IP-Adress? And what is the 'IP-configuration'?
My network-configuration:
I am using a LInksys WRT54GS wireless-router with DISABLED dhcp. I am using WPA-Personal as encryption-method. My Laptop has a Broadcom BCM4318 wlan-chipset.
What I also find very confusing: in the manual-configuration I am not able to choose WPA as encryption methods. Only WEP is possible. Why? Under 'logging to a new wireless-network' I am able to choose a lot more encryption methods.
